Hammersmith Food Research (HFR) is an NHS company established to provide high quality human nutrition research to industry partners. We seek to work closely with industry to develop specific services to address current needs in a cost-effective manner. 

New EU labelling legislation, which came into effect on 1^st July 2007, stipulates that nutrition and health claims made on foods be substantiated by sound/high quality scientific data.  HFR has considerable accumulated skill and experience available to assist the design and conduct of trials of novel food products.  Currently the core activities of our company are glycaemic index testing and intervention trials of novel foods. In both these areas we have a distinguished track record and offer access to large cohorts of patients and volunteers for testing. 

Following extensive research and development we can now offer TWO NEW SERVICES!  cognitive and appetite testing. Our expansion into these new avenues of testing reflects industries growing interest in developing functional foods that influence brain function and appetite control.

HFR fully intends to continue to develop its services in line with the needs of the food industry and to remain a key strategic partner through high quality measurement and advice.
